Two men form unlikely friendship during protest
Two men on different sides of a heated rally are capturing attention after a picture of them went viral.
Video shows Randy Furniss, covered in swastikas, being escorted through an angry crowd by Julius Long, who happens to be black.
Furniss, who had come to hear known white supremacist Richard Spencer speak, was turned away from the auditorium when tickets sold out.
He says protesters swarmed him and beat him up.
Long helped Furniss get away from the angry crowd.
The unlikely pair found friendship through communication.
"We need to sit down with Richard Spencer and start a discussion. People are not always what they seem," both Furniss and Long agreed.
Both men say they hope together they can spread a message of friendship and love instead of hate.
