Philadelphia police search for suspected serial bank robber, $10K reward offered

Police are searching for a suspected serial bank bandit.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's help to locate a suspected serial bank robber.

Rashon Mitchell is believed to be responsible for at least four bank robberies, three of which occurred in the past week.

Mitchell is being charged with the February 28th robbery of the Republic Bank branch located at 1601 Market Street.

He is also a suspect in the following robberies:

April 9th - TD Bank, 3735 Walnut Street;

April 10th - TD Bank, 4020 City Line Avenue;

April 10th - TD Bank, 969 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, Pennsylvania.

Mitchell of Philadelphia is described as a black male, age 40, 5'9, approximately 215 pounds.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Mitchell's capture.
