CAPE MAY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Cape May County Animal Shelter has saved more that four thousand animals since opening in 2004.

Judy Davies-Dunhour is the Manager of Cape May County Animal Shelter.

She says,"Our mission is to provide education, care, compassion, to Cape May County's cats and dogs.

With more than 200 cats and dogs on site, it takes a village of volunteers to take care of the animals and prepare them for their Forever Home."

"They do that one on one interaction, the enrichment, and the socialization, which is so important for the animals that are housed here," says Davies-Dunhour.

The shelter averages more than for four hundred adoptions per year.

Davies-Dunhour says, "It's truly making a difference in Cape May County and it is rewarding to see the dogs leave, the cats leave."
